One day at a time

Well in the past weeks Landon has gotten much better. The fit throwing has calmed down but he is still VERY stubborn. He now says "no no no no no no" when I do something he does not like. I am not a big fan of this! I can't tell you how great it is to be with him all the time, I LOVE it. It is amazing how God can change a person's heart. I want to note a few cute things that Landon does now.

  • He walks and runs everywhere (he started walking at 10.5 months)
  • He says: hi, bye, no, bath, cookie, cracker, nanna, bing-be (binky), dance, momma, dada, please, than-to (thank you), tirsty, ball, raarrr, and maybe a few more!
  • He can sign many of the words above
  • He eats like a pig!
  • Ever since Ryan left for Wyoming without us Landon has had a blankie that he carries around with him. It is a big blanket that he trips over it all the time!
  • He LOVES to read, he brings me books all day to read to him
  • His favorite book right now is The Ear Book by Dr. Seuss
  • He is the cutest baby ever people still stop us to tell us how cute he is

Well that is all for now. I will post again soon!

Welcome to Wyoming Williams’

Well we made it safe and sound. We are now Wyomininas…..Wyomites….Wyomans……ok just Googled it and we are WYOMINGITES. I was close.

The drive was long, really long. It is a long story but we ended up with a huge 26 foot truck. You should try lifting a 28 pound kid up into a huge truck over and over and over for three days. We had hoped to just drive straight through and get to Wyoming quickly but that was not the case.

We did not even leave Independence until after 10pm on Wednesday. So after only 4 hours of driving we were so emotionally and physically drained we had to stop in the Dalles and stay at a hotel. Then we drove all day on Thursday and stayed the night in Evenston Wyoming (about two hours from Rock Springs). Finally Friday morning we checked into our apartments and started unloading the truck. It was such a long trip, our bodies hurt for days from being cramped in the truck.

We love our apartment, I really mean I LOVE it. I will post pictures once we finish organizing but it is so nice and open and two bathrooms are great when you have two stinky boys living with you.

I must say that I am so glad we brought all our stuff with us. It is really helping to make this place our new “home”. There are so many familiar things that I am instantly comfortable. It was hard to pay over $1000 to rent and fuel the truck but it was the best decision we could have made.

I think I am adjusting well, I miss everyone but I have loved being with Landon. I love that the mornings are not rushed. We just snuggle and read a few books until we are ready to get going. It is also nice that Selene and Lennon are here. Ryan and Selene’s boyfriend have been friends for years and now Selene and I are getting closer. I would be lost if she were not here to talk to (it is also nice that Lennon is 2 and likes playing with Landon.)

Please pray for Landon. He has been a total grump since we got here. All he wants to do is have me hold him and watch TV. I feel so guilty that we are watching so much TV but he really can’t go more than a half an hour without a major breakdown (lying on the floor, screaming, crying, mama-ing, for twenty minutes or more). The only way to make his stop is for me to pick him up and walk around the house with him and his blankie, then sit on the couch and cuddle with the TV on.

I am really struggling with what to do with him. I know that his whole life has been turned upside down in the last few months so I feel really bad just letting him lay on the floor and cry when he wants to be cuddled. BUT I have to cook and clean and fold clothes etc…

How long should I give him to start adapting?

He is now sleeping much better (at Morgan’s he was waking up three times a night! I almost lost my mind.) I get him outside to the playground or on a walk everyday but he can only last 20 minutes at the playground before he wants me to just hold him. He wont play or climb or eat rocks. He just wants to be held. He is also VERY tired he starts rubbing his eyes an hour after he wakes up from his naps. Yes, he still has two naps an hour in the morning and three sometimes three and a half in the afternoon.

I am kind of frustrated because I feel guilty for changing his life but I know that it was worth it to stay home with him. Now Ryan leaves on Sunday for two weeks and I know that will just make Landon worse. Prayers and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Well sorry this was so long! I hope to start posting two times a week. I am working on a post with some of Landon’s birthday festivities! Hope you come back and read it!

Landon Keith is now 9 months old! Time has gone by so fast and he is soooo big!

Here are some interesting facts about my little munchie

Still no teeth

Weighs about 25 pounds

Can say ma-ma, da-da, deuce, Abby and hi (though I am not sure everyone hears these words!)

He still eats like a horse

He loves bell peppers….

He likes loads of flavor in his food, onions and garlic with his veggies make him drool

He is crawling very fast

He can cruse the couches

Twice he has stood on his own without holding on to anything

His favorite toy is a plastic golf set from Wal-Mart

When he hears the theme song for veggie tales he stops whatever he is doing and dances

He is one amazing little boy!

Ch-ch-ch- Changes....

Ryan thinks I am going nuts... well maybe GRANOLA! I have been thinking about things like:

organic produce
The Makers Diet
BUTTER (not margarine)
High Fructose Corn Syrup
Whole Milk or even RAW milk
Grass Fed, Free Range, Hormone Free Beef
Gardening
Slow Food
Canning
Unprocessed Everything
Natural earth mama stuff

Have you ever thought about going a little granola? Are you making changes in your families daily choices? Slowly but surely I may just turn into a crunchy granola lady... but would that be so bad?

Easter Time

Easter is such an amazing holiday. It really helps to make you sit back and really think about all that Jesus gave to you and for you. This year my mom was able to be here. So Ryan's mom and my mom went with us to church and then had lunch afterwords. I was a wonderful day .... once we got out of the house!

Landon's Dedication

We had Landon dedicated during my blogging absence. I was a great day and much of our family was able to attend.

It is such a responsibility to raise a child in a Godly way. Ryan and I are still working every day to walk with constantly the Lord. Remembering to read the Word and pray was difficult before Landon, now it seems impossible. But we will get better and try harder! Please pray for us in this area.

I will post pictures of this event when I am able to fin them! lol

So much can happen in 7 months!

Easter 2010

Well, let me first apologize for the lack of blogging. Our home computer was not working for a while. Every time I tried to blog and insert pictures it would freeze and I would loose everything! You are lucky I even decided to blog again!

This blog will be about Landon. The next will be about the rest of the Williams family.

7 Month update:

  • Landon rolls over and over
  • He had his first room to room roll this weekend
  • He likes to roll to the wall and then slap it (I think he likes the sound and texture)
  • He sits all by himself, the doctor said he has very advanced skeletal control (what a compliment?)
  • He bathes in the big bathtub now and LOVES IT
  • He eats a ton of food, like any good growing boy (strawberries are his favorite)
  • He would stand and try to walk all day if someone would just hold his hands
  • He is a cuddler, he LOVES to snuggle and cuddle
  • Ryan is his favorite person ever
  • Landon loves to be tossed in the air and hung upside down (Disneyland here we come!)
  • He is a good sleeper and napper (I will take credit for this!)
  • He likes to eat grass...... I let him sometimes.....
  • He is afraid of the vacuum....... I understand I am afraid of it too, well maybe in a different way
  • Still no teeth
  • He does not want to crawl, just walk
  • He is the cutest baby in the whole world
